Share

Saturday, September 28th

Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Bridgeport from 7p.m. to 9 p.m.

275 Huntington Road in Stratford

Lara Herscovitch & the Highway Philosophers (Pierce Campbell/bass, special guest David Childs/piano & keyboard). Doors open 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7p.m.

Lara earned a Master’s in Social Work Policy from the University of Connecticut, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts. She grew up in New York and lives in Connecticut, where she was selected by the Office of the Arts to serve in the honorary position of State Troubadour (think poet laureate, only music).

Lara’s songs are soulful, poetic treasure maps that point to the wisdom, grit and joy of underdogs and misfits, connection and courage, love and loss, hardship and hope, resilience and transformation.

A singer-songwriter-poet-performer-author and policy social worker, she writes masterful modern folk-Americana music, sings and leads with authenticity, integrity, humor and heart, and delivers performances that inspire, uplift and entertain — whether solo or with her trio, the Highway Philosophers.

Lara also presents mini-concerts, talks and workshops around themes relating to creative courage; values, mission & team-building; songwriting; and advocacy for a healthier world.

She has performed and presented thousands of concerts, talks, workshops and classes for a wide variety of audiences, including arts centers, theaters, clubs, libraries, colleges and universities, businesses and faith communities.

Tickets for this concert may be purchased at the door, or from bit.ly/3Mjiucj which will take you to ticket sales on EventBrite with no extra fees

$20 general admission (youth under 16 free).

There is a handicapped accessible entrance with a chairlift at the rear of the church.  For questions contact Colin Healy, 203-722-8973
