Saturday December 9th, between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.  Stratford Historical Society will host the Fire and Ice Festival with fun for the whole family. Welcome the holidays and celebrate the traditions of the season and the history of Stratford than at the bedecked Captain David Judson House.  There will be a historic fire truck on display for kids of all ages, crafts, holiday music, cookie decorating (and tasting!), popcorn, cocoa and lots more holiday fun—in a town that will be marking its 384th Christmas! Saturday, December 9th, 10 a m -1:30 p m. at Bunnell High School Cafeteria. Bunnell 1st ever Holiday Fair! will take place The fair will have 34+ vendors for your holiday shopping! Entry is free!

Saturday, December 9th, 9 a.m. to noon, rain or shine, Stratford’s Marching Band and Color Guard Can and Bottle Drive.  Eli Whitney Bus Loop. You don’t even have to get out of your car – put cans and bottles in trunk of car (or bed of truck) and they will get them!

Sunday, December 10th, Holiday 5K Run for Toys race.  Begins at Lordship Sea Wall.  Still openings can register up to the Day of Race:  Registration ends at 9:00 a.m. EST.  Registration must be on-line. For further information and to sign up go to:

Sunday, December 10th, 2 p.m.: Stratford Library, The New England Guitar Society (NEGS) was established to create a nurturing environment for classical guitarists to meet, share ideas, perform, compose, teach and grow as musicians.

Monday, December 11th  from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Holy Name of Jesus Food Pantry. The food pantry is sponsored by the Connecticut Food Bank, the Stratford Department of Health, and the YMCA.  The Food Bank takes place on every other Monday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and they are asking that cars line up on College Street.  You are also asked to bring your own reusable bag.  There will be 1 bag per household distributed.  Please bring identification if a second household is in the car.

Monday, December 11th, 6:30 p.m.: Stratford Library, Stratford’s popular Sister Cities Chorus will make an appearance, with a selection of seasonal standards. For over thirty years the Sister Cities Chorus has been sharing music and culture with five other Stratfords of the world. Members have traveled to these other countries, and in turn hosted members of their choruses. The group is a multi-generational, mixed voice, community ensemble, open to anyone of any background who loves to sing.  All welcome to this free concert.  Come early! Seating is limited! Donations of a non-perishable food good or cash will be accepted for Sterling House Community Center Pantry.

Tuesday, December 12th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Stratford Health Department, Birdseye Municipal Building, get your flu and updated COVID-19 shots from the Stratford Health Department. Uninsured and underinsured individuals can still get their Covid-19 vaccines from us.

 

Sterling House tree and wreath sale.
