Stratford’s Christmas tree collection will begin Monday, January 8th and end February 9th. Only live Christmas trees will be picked up. Residents are reminded to remove all decorations, lights, tinsel and ornaments. Please do not put trees in plastic bags for pickup. Residents are advised to put the tree in the planting strip where it can be seen and picked up easily. The Parks division will split up into teams to canvas neighborhoods for pick up.

The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford, will be closed on Sunday, January 14 and Monday, January 15, 2024, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Saturday, January 27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Stratford Library Reference Department and its Knit Wits program present it’s first-ever Yarn Swap. Crafters are invited to bring their unwanted yarn to the event. Tables will be available to set-up and display yarns, and crafters can also bring knitting accessories (books, needles, project bags), which need to be in good and clean condition. Attendees are also encouraged to stay and knit. Light refreshments will be available.
