Second Friday of the Month
Friday June 9th from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m.
Unitarian Universalist Church
Stratford has Hidden Talent.
Colin Healy and Myra Healy, along with Peter Morse and Ellen Hardy have been gathering people to make music together on the second Friday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Stratford for more than 3 years. The church is at 275 Huntington Road. It is a project of the church’s Events Committee to offer a safe space for musical expression and community building.
People bring their guitars, basses, banjos, fiddles, mandolins, harmonicas and even a cello! There is no required repertoire. They take turns around the circle leading a song or playing an instrumental while encouraging others to play along or sing a harmony.
The music ranges from folk, country, bluegrass, pop, rock and even some classical. It all depends on who shows up. There are no microphones or stages to complicate things.
The room is filled with smiles and people connecting with each other with some great harmonizing. The talent ranges from “real musician” to “just getting started” to “just listening”.
This Song Circle is a real gift. If you are interested in learning more or participating, please email Colin Healy at [email protected].
