Free and Open to All Children

January Storytimes
Enjoy early literacy activities and meet other families at Library Storytimes. Weekly Storytimes for children meet at 10:30 a.m., beginning January 8th. (No Storytime on Jan 15th.)  Registration is required. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events.

Mondays: Toddler Time, for ages 0-2

Tuesdays: Preschool Storytime, for ages 3-5

Baby Lapsit: Thursdays for babies 0-18 months

Friday Fun: Stories and songs for ages 2-5

Book Scientists
Book Scientist kits will be available beginning January 19TH, for children ages 3-12. Each kit includes books and activities. Books are selected based on the age of the child participating. This month the theme is Favorite Illustrators. Return the Library books when they are due, and keep everything else! To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events. Learn to Crochet
Beginner’s crochet lessons will take place on Wednesday, January 10th at 6 p.m., and Sunday, January 21st at 2:30 p.m. All students ages 9-12 are welcome, and supplies are provided. Junior Scientists Grab nGo
Junior Scientists Grab & Go activity for children ages 4-7 begins with pick-ups starting on Thursday, January 11. Treehouse Science
Treehouse Science program for children ages 8-12 will be on Friday, January 12 at 3:30 p.m. Children ages 7-12 are welcome to join us for some fun with LEGO Meeperbots! Snow Much Fun
Join us for some winter fun for ages 4-8, on Saturday, January 13th at 2:30 p.m. We will read a story about snow, enjoy activity stations learning about snow, then we’ll end the program with a snowball fight! Coding Class
Join us for Kids Coding on Tuesday, January 16th at 4 p.m. Children ages 7-12 are welcome. Have some fun with computer and paper coding. Math Grab nGo Kit
Get a Math Grab ‘n’ Go kit for children ages 6-9. This month’s theme will be “telling time.” Each kit will come with informational lessons and activities about the topic. Preschool Academy
The Preschool Academy monthly interactive workshop for parents and preschoolers ages 3-5 will be on Thursday, January 18th at 6 p.m. The workshop will include activities, stories, and tips on how to get your preschooler Kindergarten ready. Read To A Therapy Dog
Children will have an opportunity to read to Tucker the therapy dog on Friday, January 19 from 4 p.m.- 4:45 p.m., and Wednesday, January 24 from 2:30-3:30p.m. Children ages 6-12 may sign up for a fifteen minute time slot, and can choose a favorite book to read to the dog. Lighthouse Quilters
Join our monthly, intergenerational quilting program. The date is Monday, January 22 at 4 p.m. for patrons ages 7 and up. Each month participants will work together to create seasonal quilt blocks. Nutmeg Book Group
Join our online Nutmeg Book Group for readers in grades 4 to 6. January’s pick will be Leonard (My Life As A Cat)”. Read the book, then join us for a book discussion on Monday, January 22 at 7p.m. on Zoom. Books are provided to registered participants courtesy of the Carol Pieper Memorial Fund. Write Your Own Graphic Novel
Write Your Own Graphic Novel! Our workshop for children ages 8-13 will take place on Tuesdays at 6 p.m., January 23 and 30, February 13 and 20. Kids will draw and write their own stories, and the club will print a graphic novel with copies available to participants. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events. Tween Magnetic Tile Competition
Tweens, grades 5-7, can join us for a magnetic tile competition on Wednesday, January 24th at 4 p.m. Try out your design and construction skills on several mini magnetic challenges and see who can come up with the craziest or coolest structure! Sensory Storytime
