Stratford Health Department and Baldwin Center to Host

Friday, October 21st, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Stratford Health Department is collaborating with Baldwin Center to host the first annual “Art of Aging Healthy Living Expo” on Friday, October 21st, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Baldwin Center, 1000 W Broad Street.

The expo will provide Stratford seniors with information and demonstrations pertaining to traditional and alternative methods for maintaining good health, such as Covid-19 and flu vaccines, blood pressure screenings, aromatherapy, meditation, yoga, nutrition, and more. The event will also feature free giveaways and healthy snacks.

The CDC encourages the use of preventative services to help prevent diseases by providing screenings, immunizations and counseling about personal health behaviors. “Stratford Senior Services’ mission is to enhance the quality of life within the senior community by providing health services with professionalism and a commitment to excellence” states Tamara Trojanowski, Director of Community & Senior Services.

Andrea Boissevain, Director of Health at the Stratford Health Department states that “Aging increases the prevalence of chronic diseases and it is a priority of the Stratford Health Department to promote preventative measures by providing our seniors with general health information”. The following partners will be at the event: Stratford Police, Stratford Fire Department, Stratford Animal Control, Stratford Parents Place, Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital, Sterling House, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, etc.
