The Council of Churches
April 28th from 7:30-8:45 P.M.
The Council of Churches’ Raising the B.A.R. (Becoming AntiRacist) team invites you into sacred conversations in a safe space to talk about the history of race and the American Church. The series begins on April 28th and continues through July 7th on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:45 p.m. on Zoom.
Though the series will span 11 weeks, each session covers a distinct topic, so you’re welcome to attend as many as you wish.
Guided by The Color of Compromise book, video series by its author, Jemar Tisby, and our capable and dedicated team of facilitators the series moves chronologically from Americas colonial past to today’s Black Lives Matter movement.
In the summer of 2020 we offered a 5-part Color of Compromise series. If you participated then, great! Join us again as this 11-part series will take a deeper dive into the material. The Color of Compromise is not about shaming or blaming but rather opens our eyes to a history hidden, unknown, or ignored by White Christians and calls us to take seriously what the Bible teaches about human dignity and equality.
