Free Performance of Shakespeare’s Villains & Clowns @ the Globe

Tuesday, April 2nd, at 5:30 p.m.
Two Roads Brewing in Stratford, 1700 Stratford Avenue

Shakespeare’s Villains & Clowns @ the Globe is a two-actor mixtape of scenes, songs, and improv that playfully showcases how Shakespeare’s Staging Conditions fuel the AGC (American Globe Center) style to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

“If you already love Shakespeare, or if you are not yet a fan, this one-hour event will turn you into a true believer in the AGC,” said Jim Warren, the American Globe Center’s Founding Artistic Director. “This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of the AGC’s grand plan.”

The AGC’s grand plan is to build the world’s only timber-frame re-creation of Shakespeare’s 1614 Globe theatre along with a state-of-the-art performing arts and education center.“We’ll show you how we are turning the state of Connecticut into Shakespeare Central for the region and nation, all while you enjoy an hour filled with fun,” said Warren.

According to Warren, the American Globe Center is a visionary theatre project poised to transform destination entertainment, Shakespeare, and education in the United States and beyond. The AGC will be a profoundly new fusion of the old and new: a theatre campus in New England that features the world’s only timber-frame re-creation of Shakespeare’s 1614 Globe theatre along with a modern performing arts and education center.

“The AGC’s immersive performance style creates community and connects audiences with our shared humanity, building a brighter future for education and live theatre,” said Warren.

Reservations for the Tuesday, April 2nd performance of Shakespeare’s Villains & Clowns @ the Globe are strongly encouraged and can be made online via EventBrite.

Warren says, “We’ve met with members of the Stratford Town Council; we are meeting with the Mayor and the Economic and Community Development Director of Stratford at the end of this month; we are setting up meetings with Economic Development folks and key officials in Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Milford, New Haven, and everywhere we can in Connecticut to share our Globe+ vision for creating a colossal tourism draw that will have a regional, national, and international reach.”

“We are also working on the state level,” he continued,“with the offices of both Connecticut U.S. senators, and the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development to get those folks excited about a $100mill+ tourism/education/entertainment project in Connecticut.”
