Library Closed for Good Friday and Easter. The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street, has announced its upcoming holiday schedule.  The library will be closed on Friday, March 29th for Good Friday and Sunday, March 31st for Easter.  Current library hours are: Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., Friday-Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday: 1-5 p.m.  For further library information, call 203.385.4161 or visit: www.stratfordlibrary.org.

Saturday March 30th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.  Perry House Easter Hop, 1128 West Broad St.  Rain or shine, there will be Easter themed stations and activities. Children will receive treat filled Easter Eggs, a take home craft and an opportunity to take a picture with the Easter Bunny!  There are a limited number of available spaces so make sure you register your children to attend using the link below.

Monday, April 1st  from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Holy Name of Jesus Food Pantry. The food pantry is sponsored by the Connecticut Food Bank, the Stratford Department of Health, and the YMCA.  The Food Bank takes place on every other Monday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and they are asking that cars line up on College Street.  You are also asked to bring your own reusable bag.  There will be 1 bag per household distributed.  Please bring identification if a second household is in the car.

Wednesday, April 3rd, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Stratford Community Conversations at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 278 Huntington Road.

Free Tax Filing Program Ends April 11th at South End Community Center, 19 Bates Street.  By an IRS certified Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA) tax preparer. This program is open to all those who quality (households that earn less than $63,000 in 2023).  For appointments or program information call: 203-377-0689.  You may also email them at tysims@townofstratford.com

Monday, April 15th  Community Book Discussion of When We Walk By.  All Zoom meetings are 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. To receive the free Zoom link, email: socialjusticeatfcc@gmail.com.  The series provides a look that radically changes one’s understanding of neighbors, poverty, and homelessness. Believing we can make inroads in resolving homelessness and poverty in our community, the multipart discussion series welcomes all to attend, even if they have not yet read the book.
