Noise Barrier Replacement: West Broad Street and Ferry Boulevard

Share

State Representative Joe Gresko (D)
121st Connecticut House District

I hope you’re doing well and enjoying the summer months.

I’m reaching out to inform you about an important upcoming project. The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is set to replace the 1,800-foot section of wooden noise barrier along I-95 Northbound between Exits 32 (West Broad Street on-ramp) and 33 (Ferry Boulevard/East Main Street off-ramp) in Stratford.

These noise barriers have reached the end of their useful life and will be replaced with new, longer-lasting materials that require less maintenance and offer better noise abatement. Construction is anticipated to begin in the Spring of 2026, with the design phase wrapping up in October 2025. The project will be funded entirely by state funds, ensuring that our community continues to benefit from these necessary infrastructure improvements.

Your input is valued as the project progresses, and I encourage you to stay informed and involved. No public hearing is anticipated at this time, as this is routine maintenance, but updates will be provided as the project moves forward.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the CTDOT Principal Engineer, Michael Cherpak, at [email protected] or at (860) 594-3155.

As always, if I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact my office at (860) 240-8585 or email me directly.
