Many seniors are faced with the choice of whether to stay in their homes and communities in their retirement years or to move to an entirely different kind of living situation. In this one-hour free presentation and discussion, Aging in Place Design Specialist Colin Healy will share his perspectives on more than a decade of helping homeowners decide whether their homes can be transformed to support their decision to stay in their homes, on their own terms for as long as they choose. These insights are also relevant to adult children aiding their parents’ care.
Colin will discuss the concepts of Universal Design, which advocates that all products and environments should support the needs of all people, from the youngest to the oldest, and how to apply these principles to your home.
