Kids Day at the Farmer’s Market

Businesses and Nonprofits Introduced to Kids

By Tom Dillon

Stratford’s Health Department did it again!  Kids Day 2023 was another rousing success with hundreds of Stratford folk coming to Paradise Green for a day at the Farmer’s Market.  In addition to the market’s amazing regular vendors, more than a dozen community groups joined for the day to show off the best of our community.

Special thanks to Walter Owusu and Greta Broneill from the Health Department for continuing this amazing day for Stratford families and community groups.  Thanks to strong community support, the Stratford High Sophomore class raised hundreds of dollars with their balloon fundraiser.  Congratulations to Class president Madison Vasquez!

Local resident and market manager, Tom Dillon, staffed the giant 4 foot by 8 foot Art easel provided by The Arts Alliance for anyone to paint on.  Dozens of kids lined up to make their very own button pin with the market’s Amazing Button Machine.

The market will be there every Monday from now until Thanksgiving with SPECIAL HOURS on Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This is your best chance to get the freshest corn, fruit, and vegetables for your family picnic.
