Dear Reader,
This week’s issue honors National Black Small Business Month, which is celebrated every August. In my article this week, and in conversation with the Office of Economic and Community Development, we explore Black owned businesses in town. Throughout the month of August, each issue we will get to know more about the owners of some of our local Black owned businesses, like Rhea Imagery, a local photography business.
And photographs, who doesn’t love a funny, moving, or thoughtful image? I am excited to share with you our new column Fur Real! It is a space dedicated to pictures of our pets, those special family members who make us laugh, and weep, and love. If you have a photo you’d like to submit, you can also do so by going to the column and filling out the form.
We are also looking to add reporters to our team of writers on a variety of subjects. Have you ever considered using your voice for the good of our community? If you’re interested in exploring the possibility, I hope that you will fill out our Contributor Application.
You may have noticed our new look. We are always striving to be better and more accessible for you. We invite your comments.
We look forward to hearing from you!
