Stratford Rotary Club
The Stratford Rotary Club unveiled a new “Peace Pole” on Town Hall Green Saturday morning, May 17th. They also installed a new bench and planted beautiful gardens that will attract and help sustain butterflies. Thanks to all the hard working volunteers and to Mayor Hoydick for her support. Elana Zabarl provided a soundtrack of songs of peace and love. “May Peace be in our Communities.”

Stratford Mayor Hoydick’s Proclamation for Rotary’s Epic Day of Service and the OPUS Peace Pole Town Hall Rotary Pocket Park with bench and plantings. Dedication, May 17th, 2025.
Part of our Epic Day of Service included planting drought hardy plants to provide a perennial garden to attract butterflies and become a Pollinator Pathway. The unveiling and dedication of Stratford Rotary’s Peace Pole also included the dedication of a new bench to help create a small ”Peace Pocket Park”.

There was live music on the theme of Peace by musician Elana Zabarl.
A goal of the Peace Pole initiative is to harness the transformative power of the arts with our community to promote understanding, bridge divides, and inspire social change in times of conflict. By providing marginalized communities with a platform for expression, Opus for Peace fosters dialogue through creative collaboration, paving the way for healing and reconciliation.
Through performance, the initiative unites and advocates for positive peace, and strives to create lasting impact by sparking collective action and solidarity worldwide.
We marked our 2025 Epic Day of Service with the local installation of a new bench dedicated to the Town of Stratford.

Our new Peace Pole signals our hope for Peace in our Communities and Peace Throughout the World.
