Stratford Town Councilman Anthony Afriyie (D5) been appointed to the Connecticut Equity and Environmental Justice Advisory Council (CEEJAC).

As a Stratford Council Member representing District 5, he will officially serve in the Municipality/COG seat on the Connecticut Equity and Environmental Justice Advisory Council.

“I am deeply committed to advocating for our community’s needs and ensuring that our town’s development is both equitable and sustainable. This new role on the CEEJAC will enable me to further these efforts on a state-wide level, working alongside other dedicated individuals to address pressing environmental and social justice issues.”

CEEJAC is dedicated to ensuring that all communities, especially those historically marginalized and disproportionately affected by environmental hazards, have a voice in the decision-making process.

“My focus will be on advocating for policies and initiatives that promote environmental justice, enhance public health, and ensure that all Connecticut residents can enjoy clean air, water, and land.

I believe this appointment will provide invaluable opportunities to bring the concerns and aspirations of Stratford residents to the forefront of state discussions on environmental equity. Your input and support will be crucial as I embark on this journey. I am eager to hear your thoughts and ideas on how we can collectively work towards a more just and sustainable future for all.” Anthony Afriyie
