Yesterday, the Supreme Court heard arguments that could upend the Voting Rights Act of 1965. With a focus on Louisiana, the case Louisiana v. Callais is about equal representation for Black voters and the role race plays in the redistricting and mapping process. The issue at hand in this case is whether lawmakers in Louisiana “properly balanced constitutional and Voting Rights Act (VRA) protections when enacting a new congressional map, SB 8, with two majority-Black districts in 2024, following years of litigation under Section 2 of the VRA in Robinson v. Landry,” according to the Legal Defense Fund.
In the overview of this case, the LDF states, “This case is about more than just maps — it is about the future of a multi-racial democracy and the commitment to ensure that every vote counts and every voice is heard in the political process.”

Belated questions for each Candidate:
Asking for a friend…
▪︎ RE: Consistent disturbing of the peace……What specific gumption towards enforcement measures will be exhibited to abate Town of Stratford’s plethora of way provative & unsettling, high-decibel motor vehicular baffle noise at all hours—some of which mimic sound of gunshots?
▪︎ RE: Apartment housing initiatives…….Are there any long range plans to balance building of such structures throughout ALL zip codes of Town of Stratford, VS exclusively choking up downtown vicinites?
▪︎ RE: Workout gymnasium space…….Has the time arrived for a Town-of Stratford sponsored, basic & affordable workout facility?
–w/Thanks to you both—
