Keeping you up-to-date on what you NEED to know!

The Stratford Library will be closed on Friday, April 18th for Good Friday and Sunday, April 20th for Easter. For further library information, call 203.385.4161 or visit: www.stratfordlibrary.org.

The Sanitation Division of Public Works WILL be working on April 18, Good Friday, to provide uninterrupted collection of refuse and recycling.

The Transfer Station on Watson Boulevard will be CLOSED on Good Friday. The Transfer Station will be open on Saturday, April 19th, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Yard waste collection resumed on April 7, 2025. Grass, leaves and shrubbery clippings must be contained in brown yard waste bags or loosely in 32-gallon cans. Branches no larger than one inch in diameter and 4 feet in length will be collected if tied in bundles.

Bulk Item Pick Up:  Residents MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to have their bulk items picked up prior to placing those items curbside. Appointments can be made starting March 17th 2025 by calling Stratford Department of Public Works at 203-385-4080 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Drivers should expect delays for bridge maintenance on I-95 in both directions in Stratford and many surrounding communities. The road work will begin on Monday and continue through Friday, April 25 from New Haven all the way to the New York state line. Crews will ensure that drainage on our bridges on I-95 remain in good shape. The DOT Connecticut Department of Transportation anticipates that it will shut down the shoulder and some lanes from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. during the project
