Share

November 2nd, 7 – 9:00 P.M.

Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Bridgeport

275 Main Street, Stratford

$15 at the door or bit.ly3Mjiucj

The Walkingwood Mandolin Quartet (WMQ) is celebrating 25 years of performing an eclectic repertoire on mandolin-family instruments: Betsy Rome and Ellen Cohn, mandolins; Colin Healy, mandola; and Gary Wikfors, mandocello. If you like the sound of strings plucked in harmony, if you are curious about what a mandolin quartet can sound like playing an unusual and wide range of music, if you have adventurous ears and crave the unexpected, and if you appreciate warmth, drive, passion, and humor in music, the WMQ will put a smile on your face.

25 years (+3 days) since their first public performance in 1999.
$15 at the door gets you:

          1) The four of them doing their best to entertain you armed only with mandolins

          2)  Until the secret-weapon mini-set.

          3)  A chance to play with them in an impromptu mandolin orchestra (bring your                        mando — Golden Slippers, key of D)!

          4) Birthday Cake during intermission!!

WMQ may be the last teens-era mandolin quartet still standing — don’t miss this chance to hear two mandolins, mandola, and mandocello played in harmony with creativity, humor, and joy!

And by people now 25 years older than they were when they started this…

The Church is just North of Paradise Green, on the left. Enter side door from parking lot. Handicap parking and chair lift at the rear of the church. ADA bathroom on lower level.
