What makes an employee stay at a job for over twenty years? I asked this very question to a staff member at Dunkin’. His name is Carlos, and he’s worked with the company for over 20 years.
Why? “I used to make the donuts myself. The company is the best, the donuts are quality, and the coffee is too.” On February 3rd, Dunkin’ at 1273-1275 West Broad Street reopened after a brief closure for remodeling.

The owners, a husband-and-wife duo, Setu and Puja Kalariya, own five Dunkin’ locations in total: three in Stratford, including the one in Paradise Green, one in Trumbull, and one in Monroe. Puja is the manager of the West Broad Street location, and Cuky is the manager of the Paradise Green location.

At the reopening of their West Broad Street location, many people shared iced drinks and hot beverages, participated in the decked-out Dunkin’ photobooth, and left with some swag, including a large Dunkin’ tumbler.

Puja shared with me, “We took over during COVID,” and with a smile, she helped the person behind me. What came through, as a witness to the joy among their staff and the many handshakes by Setu with his customers, is that Puja and Setu are building something special with a team right behind them, providing coffee to Stratford, reminding us that Stratford, too, runs on Dunkin.
