27,283 Stratford Residents Cast Ballots on November 5th 2024 Presidential Election
Editor’s Note: There are 35,000 registered voters in Stratford
The Town of Stratford Registrars, Jim Simon and Lou DeCilio started counting votes once the polls closed at 8 p.m. They began entering all the results — from Early Voting, Absentee Ballots, Same Day Registrations, all November 5th results … for every candidate … for every position … in each of the 10 districts.
The count was monitored by two residents, 1 Democrat and 1 Republican, and with additional people watching their every move and double checking the entries.
Major complaints were registered at several locations because of the Town of Stratford redistricting, about 1,500 of 35,000 registered voters were redistricted for 2024 elections for the next 10 years. All were directed to their “new” polling locations.
Cheaper Gas Groceries Party founded in May 2024 by Robert Finley Hyde, received 270 votes despite not campaigning in Stratford, or statewide. You could draw a conclusion that people voted for this party to voice their discontent over Connecticut’s high prices.

Decilio has been redistricting parts of Stratford for over twenty years. Currently District 3, (was formerly D-2) and District 7, (formerly D-2) All for political reasons to keep republicans in Town Hall. It’s great when it backfires. It is past time for a change in TH.
