William Shakespeare once wrote “All the World’s a Stage” and no other passage can better describe the history and philosophy of the Hudson Shakespeare Company.

Since 1992, the company has produced a wide range of titles from the Bard to Modern theater (now over 100 productions and counting) in a variety of outdoor and indoor venues. From city parks to courtrooms, our mission has always been a simple one – to give our audience the best theatrical experience possible.

Utilizing some of the best young and experienced actors, directors and crew from around the tri-state area, we conduct varied year round tours ranging from free outdoor productions to student showcases.

Our annual Shakespeare Festival presents three free outdoor productions of Shakespeare and other classical titles running from June-August. In recent years, we have become known as being the company to explore lesser performed works by the Bard and his contemporaries.

Each summer season we strive to bring a smattering of familiar titles as well as unknown and lesser done works in order to expose our audiences to all facets of Elizabethan and Jacobean drama.  We find that our audiences are interested in the question “What else?”, and are increasingly interested in the lesser known material.

The Merry Wives of Windsor is directed by Jon Ciccarelli, Show art by Red Handed Robyn @redhandedrobyn.

In love the heavens themselves do guide the state.
Money buys lands, and wives are sold by fate.

Falstaff decides to fix his financial woe by seducing the wives of two wealthy merchants. The wives find he sent them identical letters and take revenge by playing tricks on Falstaff when he comes calling. With the help of their husbands and friends, the wives play one last trick in the woods to put Falstaff’s mischief to an end.
