Stratford Public Schools is excited to welcome back over 1,000 staff members at the Opening Day Convocation, scheduled for Monday, August 26th at Flood Middle School Auditorium, located at 490 Chapel Street.
Acting Superintendent Heather Borges will present the vision and goals for Stratford Public Schools as staff members prepare for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Julia Garcia, a nationally renowned TEDx speaker and Doctor of Psychology. Dr. Garcia brings over a decade of experience working with campuses, conferences, universities, and non-profit organizations, focusing on shaping culture and improving outcomes for both staff and students.
In addition to Dr. Garcia, other distinguished attendees will include members of the Stratford Board of Education, Town of Stratford Council Chair Carl Glad, Bob David (representing BEST), Mike Fiorello (President of the Stratford Educators Association), and Abbey Owen, Stratford’s Teacher of the Year.
The event will begin with a continental breakfast and will feature a musical performance by students from Bunnell and Stratford High Schools.
