Dear Reader,
In this issue, we are introduced to a woman who dances in the breeze, a poem written by our newest contributor, Lincey Bazille, a Bunnell High School senior.
The leaves are certainly changing from green to brown, and here we are this week, welcoming in a new school year for many students in Stratford, and for some teachers that “start” kicked off last week with meetings and preparing classrooms! There are many changes ahead for students and teachers. Take a look back at Laura’s article “The State of Education for Stratford’s Future” from last week’s issue, which tells you about some of those changes: new cell phone policy, new superintendent, time changes and restorative practices that will be more deeply integrated into the school day. Be sure to read her latest article about the Connecticut Student Loan Reimbursement Program, which began accepting applications on August 15th.
As parents, we often worry about our kids, and that worry can take on a life of its own. Sometimes the worry is warranted and sometimes it is not. Luz, our Spirituality contributor, reminds us that we all “must live with uncertainty.” This is exactly what Lincey speaks to in her first article, “Beginning Senior Year.”
‘Tis election season and uncertainty abounds, but what we know for sure is that you have a vote, and the right and privilege to do just that in the manner of your choosing, on or before November 4th.
