Band Central effectively accomplishes this in a multifaceted collaborative approach fueled by founder Rob Fried’s extensive investment background, robust local network, passion for music and personal desire to “do good.” Band Central’s mission to combine philanthropy and music is reflected in its mantra to ‘show up, get down and do good’.

You can even dedicate a song to someone for the right price!  There will be complementary food and a cash bar.  Only $50 to enter.  You may purchase your tickets through the PCMH website. Rev. Sara Smith, President and CEO of nOURish Bridgeport came to Connecticut in 2009 with offers from five churches, including the 327 year-old UnitedCongregational Church at 877 Park Ave. in Bridgeport, one of the oldest continuous congregations in North America.

When Reverend Sara arrived, she walked the blocks around her big urban
church building, meeting and getting to know the residents, many of whom were in
desperate circumstances. In 2010 she founded nOURish BRIDGEPORT, Inc., a 501c3, that is a separate entity from the church itself, but shares the church facilities and several staff to help those in need, where she serves as President/CEO.

nOURish BRIDGEPORT, Inc. is a food-centered, volunteer-powered, community anchored 501c3 bringing hope to our City through direct service programs. Founded in 2010, nOURish BRIDGEPORT, through innovation and necessity, has grown into an ecosystem for supporting our neighbors who face pervasive food insecurity in our community.

The nOURish SUPER FOOD PANTRY sources and purchases 14,000 pounds of shelf stable food and perishables to distribute to thousands of neighbors each week.

Unfortunately, fresh vegetables are rarely available from the CT Food Bank. This deficit planted a seed from which an idea grew to better serve our neighbors. The nOURish FARM, founded in 2022, is the FIRST NON- PROFIT INDOOR HYDROPONIC FARM in southern Connecticut and has produced & distributed 14  tons of fresh, locally grown vegetables to historically marginalized communities in our first two years of production.

Feeding our neighbors run through all our programs & services:

*Indoor Hydroponic Farm – Growing nutrient-rich fresh produce year-round distributed through pantries and farmers markets, while employing people in living wage jobs.

*Super Food Pantry – Distributing 14,000 lbs of fresh produce, perishable and non-perishable groceries each week to neighbors struggling with food insecurity and hunger. (3,000+ neighbors/week)

*Baby Center – Distributing baby formula, wipes and diapers (400 babies/month)

*Feel the Warmth Mobile Hot Meal – Feeding homeless neighbors a hot, nutritious supper (250 meals/week)

*English Language and Citizenship Classes – offering Beginning and Intermediate English, Citizenship, Tech, Personal Finance, and GED Classes to refugees and immigrants every week.

*Thanksgiving Feast in a Box – everything needed for 500 of our neighbors to cook a traditional turkey dinner in their home (5000 meals)

$50 General Admission.
