| State Representative Joe Gresko, (D) 121st Connecticut House District Managing summer utility bills can be challenging, but there’s help available. United Illuminating (UI) is launching a series of in-person Office Hours events throughout the summer. These sessions are designed to provide direct assistance and guidance on available bill assistance programs. |
| Stratford Office Hour: – Location: Stratford Library, 2203 Main St, Stratford, CT 06615, Board Room – Date and Time: Thursday, July 18, from 3-6 p .m. |
| No appointment is necessary. You can meet directly with UI customer service representatives who will provide information on assistance programs and help with applications for financial hardship and qualifying programs. Please bring your electric/gas bills, account number, and any relevant documentation. |
| Assistance Programs Available |
| EnergizeCT Programs – Residential Rebates and Programs: 1. Home Energy Solutions – Smart energy home improvements for immediate and long-term savings. 2. Home Energy Solutions – Income Eligible – No-cost and low-cost energy upgrades for income-qualified homeowners and renters. 3. Home Construction – Incentives for building energy-efficient homes. |
| UI, SCG, and CNG Hardship Assistance Programs: 1. Low-Income Discount Rate (LIDR) – Discounts of 10% or 50% on monthly electric charges for qualified UI customers. 2. Matching Payment Program (MPP) – Dollar-for-dollar matching on energy bills for customers demonstrating financial hardship. 3. Bill Forgiveness Program (BFP) – Budget plans and matching payments for customers with overdue balances. 4. Flexible Payment Arrangements – This service is available to all residential customers, regardless of financial status. Customers can pay past-due balances over a period of up to 18 months. |
