State Representative Laura Dancho (R)
On midnight Sunday, four individuals were charged with participating in what officials declared a street takeover event on East Main Street in Stratford. Charges against these individuals included breach of peace, operating unregistered vehicles, and operating vehicles without insurance.
What’s happening on our streets is dangerous lawlessness. The worst part? Our current laws allow youth to engage in this activity without repercussions and now, they have disrupted the peace in our community. Last legislative session, I was proud to join my colleagues in the House to unanimously pass legislation cracking down on street takeovers and reckless driving, but this takes more. That’s why I also promoted legislation that supports our law enforcement by allowing them to effectively do their job and protect our hometown. I will continue to fight for our impacted residents and be the voice in Hartford that recognizes rising crime and has a proven record of standing with our police.”
If you see any instances of reckless driving or street takeovers occurring, it is encouraged to contact local police immediately.
Thank you Stratford PD, State Rep L. Dancho, & ALL who take this assault upon our common sense of civility preservation quite SERIOUSLY.
Now, for the next bane of modern living up upon the wheel –> Enforcement of State & Local Codes—already on the books—concerning unnecessarily high-decibel/modified motor vehicles wantonly disturbing the otherwise peaceful Town of Stratford at all hours!
Note: At one time, those anti-social noise situations were so frowned upon, that a ‘Mide-a-size’ car muffler ad campaign with a famous ex-boxer got lots of play in ‘toning things down’
