Wednesday, November 27th at 5 P.M. LIBRARY TO CLOSE FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY and be closed all day on Thursday, November 28th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The library will reopen on Friday, November 29th at 10 A.M. Current library hours are: Monday-Thursday: 10 A.M. – 8 P.M., Friday-Saturday: 10 A.M. – 5 P.M., and Sunday: 1-5 P.M. Shop Small Stratford. From November 1 to December 31, the campaign highlights special promotions, unique products, and festive events to encourage residents to shop local. By supporting Stratford’s small businesses, the community can enjoy one-of-a-kind holiday experiences while contributing to a thriving local economy. The Town of Stratford is once again inviting residents to support small businesses as the Shop Small Stratford campaign kicks-off the holiday shopping season. Saturday, November 30th from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sterling Community Center Open House. Open to the public. Tours at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. to highlight the restoration elements with a photo gallery of their progress and preservation; a vibrant gallery, presented by their partners at the Arts Alliance of Stratford; A holiday shop with “new merch” and original pieces of the historic slate roof will be available for purchase, complete with a certificate of authenticity. Kick-off of the Annual Tree Sale – Thanks to Shop Small Stratford, you’ll receive a newly branded mug and hot cocoa with each tree purchase.
Saturday, November 30th and Sunday December 1st, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., STARS Evergreen and Boutique Fundraiser to benefit animals, Stratford Animal Control. Selfies with Santa will be between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Bring your children or pets and snap a festive selfie with Santa.
Sunday December 1st at 1pm, the Stratford Conservation Committee will be hosting a tree walk in Shakespeare Park. Meet at Shakespeare Market and walking around the park to talk about local trees in the area, get some exercise, and answer questions with tree warden Kelly Kerrigan, tree experts and members of the conservation committee.
Sunday, December 1st, at 2 P.M., The Bob Kolb Trio, jazz interpretations of well-known holiday songs from “Home for the Holidays” to “Jingle Bells.” Long-time members of the Trio include David Childs on piano and Steve Roane on bass. Individually they have played for or with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nelson Riddle, Lionel Hampton, Diane Schurr and many more. All events will be performed live in the Lovell Room. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to start time. Free and Open to the Public
Wednesday, December 4th at 5:30 p.m. Stratford Tree Lighting on the Town Hall Green. Conservation Commission will join Stratford Tree Warden and Licensed Arborists to answer questions and give free holly saplings to attendees.

Holiday At the Homestead: December 6th through 16th. The Historic Boothe Homestead at Boothe Memorial Park, 5800 Main Street, will be decked out in its finest splendor to celebrate the holidays. Many of the buildings will be beautifully decorated for the holidays with the proceeds benefitting our school program. The Homestead will be decorated in a Victorian theme, and there will be over 20 – 3 foot decorated trees available for a silent auction. The trees were donated to Stratford non-profits who have decorated them for the auction. The hours for the tours, and for bidding on the decorated Christmas trees are:
Friday December 6th, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 7th and Sunday December 8th, 2-5 p.m.
Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th from 2-5 p.m.
Monday, December 16th, 6:30-8 p.m.
The cost is $5. Children under 12 are free.
Santa will be in attendance in the visitor center for pictures on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
