It is nonstop, that is, the number of stories we hear of kids who have gone missing. Right here in Connecticut between 2023 and 2025, anywhere from 10 kids to 600 kids were missing in our state. What is clear is that the number can never truly be accurate. According to 2024 data from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, 208 of their 218 cases were resolved, leaving a remaining 10 kids in Connecticut missing.
If that missing kid is found dead, only then is the child truly accounted for. This is every parent’s nightmare, and it is happening right now in our own community, to a family, to our neighbors.
Gaby Flores is missing. Gaby hasn’t been seen since November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. She lives in Stratford and is a student in our Stratford Public School system.
Who is she?
As reported by the Stratford Police Department, Gaby is:
White Hispanic
Female
5 feet 3 inches tall
Weighs 160 pounds
Has black or dark brown hair
Last seen wearing a black coat, pink Nike backpack and blue Crocs.
She is also someone’s daughter, friend, neighbor, student, and a person in her own right. She was reported missing, possibly by her family, though that information is not public. With the alleged neglectful actions of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families in the case of Jacqueline “Mimi” Torres-Garcia, an 11-year-old killed in New Britain by her mother, maternal aunt, and mother’s boyfriend, we must do better as a community.
Where is Gaby Flores?
If you have seen or know anything about Gaby that can help to find her, please reach out to our local police department at: 203-385-4100 or DeskSgt@townofstratford.com I contacted the Stratford Police Department, but a response was not received from them before the publication of this article.
