Nutmeg Spray and Neuter Clinic opened their new home at 626 Surf Avenue on Wednesday, October 12th. Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic is a non-profit that provides reduced cost spay/neuter services for cats an dogs throughout Connecticut and beyond. Our aim is to end pet overpopulation. In support of our mission, we have performed more than 40,000 spay and neuter surgeries since we opened their doors in August 2012.
Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic began as FeralCare with a mission to reduce feline overpopulation and suffering by providing spay/neuter and vaccination services to free-roaming cats living outdoors and owned cats living in households in-need.
Now, with a full-time clinic, they work to help reduce euthanasia practices at animal-facilities and private shelters, and also focus on community education to help decrease the number of unwanted litters being born. Learn more at:

They are not a full-service veterinarian office, nor do they offer appointments for just vaccines or other services they provide. They offer reduced cost spay and neuter services and can administer some wellness vaccines as a small part of your pet’s overall health and wellness care. If you do not have a regular veterinarian, consider visiting one of our recheck vets for your pet’s annual, overall care. (You really should have a regular veterinarian for your pet’s general health.) You can also consider going to one of their listed clinics for vaccines and a routine checkup.

Lawmakers toured the new home of the non-profit organization to celebrate the new home of Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic on Surf Road with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
In attendance for the ribbon cutting was Senate Republican Leader Kevin Kelly, Mayor Laura Hoydick, State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria, State Representative Joe Gresko, and State Representative David Michel.
“Congratulations to Clara McCabe and team celebrating the new home of their wonderful non-profit organization,” said Sen. Kelly. “Their work is helping our state every day work toward the goal of ending pet overpopulation. They have performed more than 40,000 spay and neuter surgeries since they first opened their doors in August 2012. We welcome them to their new home and are so glad to see them remain in Stratford!”
