Dear Neighbor,
This week, we hear from Dr. Peter Morgan, MD, Chair of Psychiatry, at Bridgeport Hospital. In his piece, A Winter Mental Health Check-in, Dr. Morgan reminds us that though the sunlight turns to darkness more quickly during the winter months, we do not have to stew in our own darkness alone. His piece hits particularly close to home for me during this time, a family friend took his own life just before Christmas, and yesterday was his funeral. Now is the time to revisit Barbara’s article. Life can feel lonely, but we are never alone. There is help.
I had the opportunity to meet local hero, Lileana Torres, the founder of The Neighbors’ Nook: Little Free Pantry, and in my interview with her this week, she explained exactly why she chose to help her neighbors in need of food.

May this week’s edition of the Stratford Crier provide you with both time for introspection and time to see what’s happening Around Town.
