Local Rotary Clubs Unite For Regional Meal-Packing Event
Saturday, February 7th, 8:30 AM-1 PM
Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive, Milford

Local Rotary Clubs turning compassion into action — one meal at a time. Sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Stratford, Devon, Milford, Orange, New Haven, and West Haven, we plan on packing over 100 boxes of meals from Project Outreach.

While winter offers moments of beauty and recreation for some, it can be an especially difficult time for individuals and families struggling to meet basic needs. Rising food costs, higher home energy bills, and fewer seasonal employment opportunities often force impossible choices — including whether to heat a home or put food on the table.

This hands-on event will bring Rotarians, friends, and community members together to package hundreds of nutritious, easy-to-prepare meals. Using bulk ingredients, volunteers will assemble approximately 5 different meal varieties that require only boiling water to prepare. The meals will be distributed to homeless shelters, food pantries, and individuals who are housebound.
Food donations peak during the holidays, with supplies often declining in winter as energy costs rise and food prices increase. This event helps fill that critical gap and supports organizations such as Purple Pantry of Milford, which maintains community food pantry boxes throughout the area.
The event is open to all, with volunteer roles available for every ability level. Community members are encouraged to continue the spirit of giving by joining this hands-on effort to fight hunger. There are volunteer roles available for all fitness and ability levels. For more information about this event, contact Stratford Rotary Club at: ppatusky@slrgroup.com.
