Cheaper Gas Groceries Party
Bio: Robert Finley Hyde
My name is Robert Finley Hyde, a proud veteran and a resident of Weatogue, Connecticut. I am running as a third-party candidate with the Cheaper Gas Groceries Party, committed to revitalizing our economy, promoting energy independence, and ensuring that the voices of all Connecticut residents are heard.
- Which office are you running for, and why?
I am running for the United States Senate. My decision to run stems from a desire to bring real change to Connecticut and ensure that our state’s interests are prioritized at the national level. I believe it’s time for new leadership that is focused on economic growth, common-sense policies, and a brighter future for all.
- What are your qualifications for this position?
I hold four degrees and a minor, including a dual Bachelor of Arts in Geographic Information Science and Political Science, and a dual Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management Information Systems. I am currently pursuing dual Master’s degrees in Public Administration (MPA) and Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Connecticut. As a U.S. Marine Corps Iraqi War veteran, I have demonstrated my commitment to service. My background in campaign support, data analysis, and community engagement has equipped me to tackle the challenges facing Connecticut.
- What is your vision for Stratford’s future?
I envision Stratford as a thriving community where families have access to quality jobs, small businesses can grow, and public safety is a top priority. By supporting local industry and improving infrastructure, we can create new opportunities. I aim to ensure that Stratford remains a place where families are proud to live, work, and raise their children, while also being a beacon for innovation and progress in the state.
- What do you believe can be your greatest contribution to Stratford in this new position?
My greatest contribution to Stratford would be my commitment to fighting for the local economy, starting with ensuring that Sikorsky retains its Black Hawk production contract right here in Stratford. This contract is vital for local jobs and economic stability, and I am prepared to advocate fiercely for it in Washington. Additionally, I will work to attract new businesses, reduce the tax burden on working families, and support infrastructure improvements that can enhance Stratford’s growth and development.
Thank you again for this opportunity. I look forward to helping the residents of Stratford make an informed decision this election season.
