Community Garden Workshop

Hosted by Stratford Health Department
The Town of Stratford and the Stratford Health Department are working together to provide an upcoming opportunity for Stratford residents to participate in Community Gardening Workshops. Hosted by the Stratford Health Department, these workshops are part of our town’s initiative to develop community gardens, fostering sustainability, health, and community engagement.
The educational sessions will be led by Jacqueline Kowalski from UConn Extension Master Gardener Program and will provide valuable insights into gardening techniques, planning, and maintenance.
Topics to be discussed during sessions:
- Gardening 101 (what are the basics of gardening?)
- Growing fruit and perennial vegetables
- Winter sowing
- Native and pollinator plant gardening
- Garden planning
- ‘container gardening
- Soil health and composting.

Dates: Tuesdays, March 11th through to May 13th, (excluding April 15 and April 22)
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
