Dear Neighbor,
We have quite a full issue this week! From budget talk to advancements in gynecological care to license plate fraud – there is much to ponder.
In the last two months, two families have lost loved ones—Terrence Cramer and Paul Balzarano—due to gun violence. In my article this week about these two homicides, I talk with neighbors of Paul’s and hear their thoughts on the communication from the Stratford Police Department.
As we look ahead to this coming week, Mayor Chess will host a Budget Meeting at Town Hall, which you can read more about in my article.
With Teacher Appreciation week just around the corner (May 4–8, 2026), in our issue later this week you will find a roundup of sorts, in case you need a few ideas of what to gift the special teachers in your life. And be sure not to miss our local educators—a mother and son duo, who both teach at Franklin School.
May your week be filled with the beauty and joy of the lives you’ve touched and the minds you’ve inspired.
