For just the second time in history the Red Cross has issued a national blood crisis. All blood types are needed, but O positive blood (can be matched to 80% of our population) has fallen below a one-day supply. The Red Cross has had to limit distribution of these blood products to hospitals.
Each of us may be the one who needs it- a serious accident is all it takes. The lives of trauma victims, cancer fighters, and surgical patients depend on a donation that takes about an hour of our time. A single donation can save up to three lives.
