Book Scientists

The Stratford Library Children’s Dept. will offer a Hispanic Heritage Book Scientist kit for children ages 3-12.  Each kit includes books and activities. Books are selected based on the age of the child participating. When you are done, return the Library books by their due date and keep everything else! Hispanic Heritage pickups begin on Friday, September 15th. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events.

September Storytimes

The Stratford Library Children’s Dept. offers weekly Storytimes for children, beginning Monday, September 11th. Storytimes meet at 10:30 a.m. On Mondays, Toddler Time meets for ages 0-2. (No Storytime on September 25th). On Tuesdays, Preschool Storytime meets for ages 3-5. Baby Lapsit meets on Thursdays for babies 0-18 months. Friday Fun offers stories and songs for ages 2-5. Alphabet Parade Grab ‘n’ Go

The Stratford Library Children’s Dept. is offering Alphabet Parade grab ‘n go craft kits on Friday, September 8th and 22nd for children ages 2-5. The crafts feature the letters “S” and “T”. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events.

Preschool Art

Join the Stratford Library Children’s Dept. for some creative fun on Saturday, September 9th at 2:30 p.m. For children ages 3-7. Children will be learning about “process art” and using those skills to create both individual and collaborative pieces to express themselves. Preschool Art will meet in the Children’s Program Room. LEGO Club

The Stratford Library Children’s Dept. will offer LEGO Club on Monday, September 11th at 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 23rd at 2 p.m. for ages 5-12. Come build some LEGO creations with friends! Junior Scientists Grab ‘n’ Go

The Stratford Library Children’s Department will offer a Junior Scientists grab & go activity for children ages 4-7 with pick-ups starting on Thursday, September 14th. This month’s theme will be “hatching” dinosaur eggs. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events.

Preschool Academy

Join the Stratford Library Children’s Dept. for a monthly interactive workshop for parents and preschoolers ages 3-5 on Thursday, September 14th at 6 p.m. The workshop will include activities, stories, and tips on how to get your preschooler Kindergarten ready. Piano w/ Friends: Music Basics Class

The Stratford Library Children’s Dept. will offer Piano with Friends: Music Basics class on either Saturday, September 16th at 3 p.m., Tuesday, September 19th at 6 p.m., and Thursday, September 28th at 4 p.m. for children ages 7-12.  Learn how to read sheet music and find keys on a music keyboard (class does not replace professional piano lessons). Lighthouse Quilters

The Stratford Library Children’s Dept. will offer a monthly, intergenerational quilting program starting Monday, September 18th at 4 p.m. for patrons ages 7 and up. Nutmeg Book Group

Stratford Library Children’s Department is offering the Nutmeg Book Group for readers in grades 4 to 6. September’s pick will be American As Paneer Pie. Read the book, then join us for a book discussion on Monday, September 18th at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Book provided to registered participants courtesy of the Carol Pieper Memorial Fund. I Spy Hobbit

The Stratford Library Children’s Dept. will offer a Hobbit themed I Spy game for all ages from Friday September 22nd to Saturday September 30th in honor of “Make Reading a Hobbit Day”. This will be a drop-in event during Library hours.

Coding Class

Join the Stratford Library Children’s Department for some coding fun on Tuesday, September 26th at 4 p.m. Children ages 7-12 are welcome. Have some fun with computer and paper coding. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events.

Learn to Crochet
