Stratford Public Schools is proud to announce that Lea DiStefano, Assistant Principal at Eli Whitney Elementary School, has been named the 2026 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS).
This prestigious statewide recognition honors Assistant Principals who demonstrate exemplary leadership, a strong commitment to student success, and meaningful contributions to their school communities. Ms. DiStefano’s selection reflects her outstanding dedication to students, staff, and families, as well as her positive impact on school culture and instructional leadership.
Ms. DiStefano is currently in her third year as Assistant Principal at Eli Whitney Elementary School. Throughout her tenure, she has been recognized for her collaborative leadership style, student-centered decision-making, and unwavering commitment to equity and excellence. Her work has strengthened the school climate, supported high-quality teaching and learning, and fostered strong relationships across the school community.
