After a week-long investigation, the Stratford Police Department arrested 20-year-old Jordan Miron and charged him with sexual assault on Monday, May 18th. Miron’s bond is set at $150,000.
The sexual assault of women and young girls is all too common. In Connecticut alone, from 2022 to 2023, reported assaults rose 11% to 744 incidents according to the state website. Typically, women experience their first sexual assault before the age of 25. According to the Connecticut School Health Survey conducted in 2013, 15.5% of high school females, and 7.5% of high school males reported that they had been forced to have sex with someone.
The young woman who reported the assault to the Stratford Police Department is now 20 years old, stated the assault happened when she was a student at Stratford High School. As we learn more, we will update you. You can read the full Stratford Police Department’s press release here.
