I can’t believe the first day of school is August 28th, and we are less than twenty days out from the start of a new school year. Although my three kids may not be, I am ready for the routine of it all, with no need to be the family Uber driver anymore, or wondering what to do when the rain causes outside summer camps to close for a day or two or three over the summer.
I am ready for school to start. Are you? If not, look no further than just around the corner, because there are plenty of resources in town to help with everything from backpacks and school supplies to immunizations and more.
Our local Health Department will offer clinics, starting this week, for immunization appointments.
Appointments are available during the following times:
- Tuesdays: August 12, 19, 26 & September 2 (2:00 PM – 6:30 PM)
- Thursdays: August 14, 21, 28 (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Wednesdays: August 27 & September 3 (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
Kris Agapito, RN and Public Health Supervisor, says, “We want to make it easy and accessible for families to get their children ready for a healthy school year. These clinics help remove barriers for working parents and ensure that students are compliant with school entry requirements. If not up-to-date on vaccines, students may not be allowed to start on the first day of school.” Learn more here.
