HARTFORD, Conn. (May 5, 2026) — The Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism today announced the launch of Perks & Recreation™, a brand-new rewards program designed to turn state exploration into rewards and exclusive benefits.
Available now at ctperks.com, the free program invites users to explore Connecticut, share their experiences, and earn points that can be redeemed for exclusive merchandise, special perks, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
At its core, Perks & Recreation™ transforms how people connect with place — rewarding not just where they go, but how they engage.
Participants can complete monthly “Rec Lists” — curated prompts that encourage exploration across Connecticut, from visiting a favorite museum or beach to sharing their favorite go-to slice of apizza or what makes a place uniquely Connecticut. Each action earns points, with new opportunities added regularly to keep engagement fresh and ongoing.
The program also extends beyond the platform through the official Perks & Recreation™ companion podcast, hosted by Amanda Elgie. Each episode spotlights destinations, local voices, and experiences across Connecticut — offering a deeper, story-driven way to explore the state while rewarding listeners with points for tuning in.
“We wanted to create a way for residents to not just live in Connecticut, but to truly experience everything our state has to offer,” said Morgan Nyerick, Director, Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism. “Perks & Recreation is about celebrating that local pride. Whether you’re visiting a favorite hiking trail or discovering a new local eatery, you’re earning points that connect you more deeply to our community. It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s our way of saying thank you for repping Connecticut.”
Points earned through the platform can be redeemed for a range of rewards, from Connecticut-branded merchandise to exclusive experiences not available to the general public — including behind-the-scenes access and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities across the state.
Examples of redeemable experiences include an insider’s tour of Connecticut government with Governor Ned Lamont, a Tide to Table dinner with James Beard Award-winning chef David Standridge, a guided on-track driving experience at Lime Rock Park, Mohegan Sun’s All Access experience featuring a private behind-the-scenes tour and signature dining, an artisanal cheese tour at Arethusa Farm, and a curated “Stay, Dine, Explore” overnight experience in New Haven.
The program is designed to be simple and accessible:
- Show Your Pride: Complete prompts from the monthly Rec List, such as visiting a specific park or sharing a photo of a local landmark.
- Earn Points: Every action—from social media posts to watching educational videos about the state—adds to your total point score.
- Get Rewards: Redeem points for exclusive Connecticut merch and “unforgettable moments” with the state’s most iconic figures.
By blending digital interaction with real-world exploration, Perks & Recreation™ creates an ongoing relationship between participants and the state — one that evolves over time and rewards curiosity, creativity, and pride of place.
