Have a Fun Finish to the Summer with Stratford Library August Events for Kids!

Book Scientists Theatre:

Children ages 3 to 12 can discover a love of theatre with our grab and go at the Stratford Library. Kits include library books selected for the child’s age, plus an activity.

When you are done, return the library books by their due date and keep everything else! Registration is required while supplies last. Counting Animals Grab & Go Kit:

Learn how to count from 1-10 with our grab & go kit for children ages 2-6. Numbers are listed in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. All other materials in the kit are in English.

Pick up begins on Monday, August 14th  and 21st (each week is a different kit). Registration is required. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events. Book Scientists Under The Sea:

For some under the sea fun, join us and get a Book Scientist Kit that includes books and an activity for ages 3-12.  Learn about some neat aquatic animals & their world.

Pick up starts Friday, August 18th. Kits are checked out on a Library Card, and books are selected based on the age of the child participating. Back To School Storytime:

Celebrate the beginning of a new school year for children ages 3-6! Join us on Friday, August 25th, at 10:30am. We’ll read some stories about starting a new year in school, and enjoy some fun activities. Registration is required. To register, visit the website at stratfordlibrary.org, then choose Events. Nutmeg Book Group:

The Nutmeg Book Group, for children entering grades 4-6, will read and discuss one of the 2024 Connecticut Nutmeg Book Award intermediate titles. The pick for August is Ben Yokoyama & the Cookie of Doom. 

Read the book and then join us on Zoom for a book discussion Monday, August 28th, at 7 p.m. One Grab ‘n’ Go kit per family, courtesy of the Carol Pieper Memorial Fund.
