Dear Neighbor,
There was much to do, and many celebrations to be had this past weekend in Stratford. From the Stratford Library Association’s April in Paris Annual Gala to youth sports Opening Day to Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebration (with local actors giving Romeo and Juliet a special cameo on Paradise Green) – community action abounded!
Youth sports provide kids the opportunity to meet kids from other schools, build their confidence, and so much more. If you’re a parent of a youth sports player, team parent, or coach (or both a parent and coach), we’d love to have you submit an article for potential publication in the Stratford Crier. Sports, whether it’s tee ball for the 3-year-olds or semi-finals for the high school team, sports at any age matter.
At Obodo Serendipity Books this weekend, we heard from debut author Dale Barzey-Pond about the importance of “being aware of what your body can do at any age.” In Jim’s transportation article this week, he invites you to consider a trainload of questions on what it means when the MTA pushes us riders with more fare hikes, and thinks we have zero awareness of the elephant in the room.
We hope you enjoy this week’s issue, and it leaves you more aware of just what you are capable of in community.
