Dear Neighbor,
Tax day is never fun, and for me, every day “feels” like tax day. Today, however, is the last day to pay your taxes without interest. Town Hall closes at 4pm today.
Tomorrow, August 4th, you can attend the special Finance & Audit Committee at 6pm on Zoom. And then, to round out your week, there is the invitation to participate in The Neighborhood Association meeting for Districts 3,4,& 5 which will be held at Stratford High School and begins at 6pm this upcoming Wednesday. The main topic will be Point Stratford ideas. It’s a chance to offer yours.
Here in the pages of this week’s Stratford Crier, you will find plenty to hold your attention, from the many reviews of contributor Tom Holehan. If I may, I think you should start with his review of Legacy Theatre Offers a Tepid Wizard of Oz. And then peruse of David Wright’s article about none other than Stephen King!
We have a few guest contributors this week: a heartwarming article by Pam Robertson with a call to action, and an announcement by Jocelyn Ault about the need for blood donations from the Red Cross. Wherever you start in this issue, know that you are reading the work of committed community members who choose to use their gifts, like Liv, who writes this week about the Stratford Library Association!
