For many in our town, this week marks the birth of Jesus, born on Christmas Day. In our issue this week, we celebrate, reflect, honor, and consider what Christmastime in Stratford was like in the 1720s. David Wright, our town historian, takes us down memory lane in his column, Stratford: The Stories We Tell: Christmastime in Stratford, when Christmas was about spending time with loved ones, and less so about toys and gifts.
In Luz’s article this week, she reminds us to check in on those who may need a little extra support, especially during this time of year. In her article, Holiday Cheer, Luz says, “May you celebrate the season and each other in ways that suit you and make you feel happy and included.”
I invite you this week to celebrate our community, the work of our newspaper, and add the Stratford Crier to your year-end giving plans so that together we can go into 2026 by supporting each other in news, memories, and showing up for one another.
Happy Holidays to all, from our family to yours!
