A new week, punctuated by an impending Nor’easter and an upcoming mayoral debate at Stratford High School. I’d say the week is off to a curious start.
And curiosity abounds this week with the incredible book reviews submitted by young readers from the Stratford Library Association. We are excited to announce our new partnership with the SLA and young readers, who in their very own section, By Kids, For Kids, will provide book reviews. This week we hear from Ryan and Serenity, who provide insightful reflections on two graphic novels they’ve read. Also in a literary mode, we have Pascale Joachim’s interview with local author Roger Chiocchi.
Pickleball was among the many topics covered during last week’s mayoral debate between Mayor Hoydick and Democratic candidate, Dr. David Chess. What was not mentioned in Dr. Chess’s answer during this particular debate, was the fact that the Stratford Professional Fire Fighters Local No. 998 endorsed him for mayor. And be sure to read Barbara Heimlich’s interview with new female firefighter, Suzy Gillotti.
We hope you will read Tyler Mack’s and my article about the mayoral debate, which was held on October 9th at Oronoque Village. And mark your calendars for the public mayoral debate on Thursday, October 16th, 5:30pm at Stratford High School, 245 King Street.
Check out our Calendar to see what other things Stratford has to offer in the week ahead!
