This week, I ask that you consider the power of second chances. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our very own community member and Stratford Crier reporter is a breast cancer survivor; as you learn more about what precautions you can take (or support another through) to practice better breast health, learn more about Barbara’s second chance.
As you may (or may not) know, we’ve partnered with the Stratford Library Association to bring you a special column called By Kids, For Kids. Young reporters from the Kid Reporters Club, with support and guidance from children’s librarian Miss A., write book reviews each week, give book suggestions, and share their bookish insights. This week, we get to hear from young readers, Ryan and Alyssa.
During last week’s Town Council meeting, decisions were made and new ordinances celebrated. You can learn more about them both from Representative Kaitlyn Shake. Town politics have been front and center in recent months, and the final mayoral debate was held last week between Mayor Hoydick, and Dr. David Chess, giving both second chances to prove why they should be (or continue on as) the mayor of our beloved town of Stratford.
Whether you read my article this week about the second mayoral debate or watch the Politics and Power News 12 conversation between the candidates, don’t forget that you are the ones who will make that decision!
You can vote early or on November 4th, but use your voice and VOTE!
