Support our Town’s Marching Band! Can and Bottle Drive on Saturday 9 a.m. to Noon at the Eli Whitney drop off loop.

Whitehead Weekend on Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sikorsky Memorial Airport. General Aviation Fly-in, Whitehead Display.

On Monday head out to the Paradise Green Farmer’s Market Back Better Than Ever!! Every Monday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Connecticut Grown and Made.

Wednesday go to the Stratford Library for “Beekeeping Demonstration & Honey Tasting” on Wednesday, August 17th from 12-1 p.m. in the A/C Lovell Room. The program is free and open to the public but limited to 30 participants. Beekeeper and Environmental Educator Mark Ceneri will wear a bee suit and bring all his apiary tools for a fascinating look into the life of a beekeeper and his hives. Ceneri will demonstrate beekeeping equipment, explore the complex life of honeybees and pollination along with captivating facts about the cooperative structure of honeybee society. A tasting of raw honey for all participants will conclude the program.

Teen Tiny Art Show presently on display at the Stratford Library. According to Senior Service Specialist Teresa Neville, teens were invited to flex their artistic skills on the smallest canvas ever by creating a tiny work-of-art in their own style based on the theme: “Summer”. Art supplies were provided by the Library. The “Teen Tiny Art Show” is currently on display in the Teen Department throughout the summer.

Go for a candlelight walk on Wednesday, August 17th. The Stratford Historical Society is sponsoring weekly Wednesday Candlelight Historical Walks. Walks begin at Judson House, 963 Academy Hill Road, at 7 p.m. Walks vary each week, and are led by the Stratford Town Historian, David Wright.

Free tours and admission to Judson House for all children (and an adult) until September 5th. Tuesdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stratford Sterling House Community Center is having a Back to School event on Saturday, August 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Open to all Stratford students (must have proof of being a Stratford student). Back packs, school supplies, gently used uniforms.
