Back to School Immunizations and Physicals: The Stratford Health Department is trying to make back-to-school preparations easier for families by offering a quick and easy way for students to get their physicals and vaccinations. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids to the Health Department for physicals and vaccinations. Physicals cost $75, the first immunization is $20 and additional shots are $5. Anyone with Husky insurance is covered for the appointment. The back-to-school immunization and physical program begins August 16th and runs through the end of the month. Appointments are required. On Saturday, August 19th at 10 a.m. at the Judson House/Catharine B. Mitchell Museum Historic Gardens, 967 Academy Hill, join Laurie Masciandaro to learn about the sixteen historic gardens across Connecticut. Laurie will share her extensive knowledge of gardening from a historian’s perspective and discuss the styles, beauty, and traditions of gardens of the past. Enjoy light refreshments and walk through our Historic Judson House Gardens following the presentation.  $3 Members, $5 Non-members. Monday, August 21st, Food Pantry from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus parking lot, College Street. The food pantry is sponsored by the Connecticut Food Bank, the Stratford Department of Health, and the YMCA. Stratford Mobile Food Bank takes place on every other Monday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and they are asking that cars line up on College Street. You are also asked to bring your own reusable bag. There will be 1 bag per household distributed. Please bring identification if a second household is in the car.
