Saturday, October 14th, Stratford Rotary shredding event. RAIN OR SHINE – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (or until the truck is full). Parking lot of the Baldwin Center, 1000 West Broad Street. Bring sensitive documents to be shredded on-site, bring electronics and batteries for recycling! Donations requested Reasonable pricing and easy drive-thru service. Drive up to the truck and a Rotarian will remove the shredding items from your car, and deliver them directly to the shredding truck. You can stay and watch or drive away. Shredding Certificates are available. Suggested Donation Prices:

$5 small bag (grocery Plastic/paper bag)

$15 Medium Container (bankers box)

$40 Large Container (Plastic tubs)

$100 Fill a shred bin

All donation proceeds support Student Scholarships, Non-Profit Grants, and Community Events Supported by the Stratford Rotary Club and Foundation.

Saturday, October 14th, Marching Band and Color Guard can and bottle drive from 9 a.m. to noon in the Eli Whitney bus loop – rain or shine!  Clean your closets, as they will also be collecting clothing and textile donations.  The recycling fund raiser pays by the pound and will support our Marching Band and Color Guard.

Monday, October 16th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Farmer’s Market on Paradise Green. Shop local.  Connecticut grown.

Monday, October 16th, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Holy Name of Jesus Food Pantry. The food pantry is sponsored by the Connecticut Food Bank, the Stratford Department of Health, and the YMCA. The Food Bank takes place on every other Monday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and they are asking that cars line up on College Street. You are also asked to bring your own reusable bag. There will be 1 bag per household distributed. Please bring identification if a second household is in the car.

Wednesday, October 18th, Free Blood Pressure Screenings South End Community Center, from 9:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.

Friday, October 20th, at the Baldwin Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 2nd Annual Art of Aging Healthy Living Expo, sponsored by the Stratford Health Department and Baldwin Center

Saturday, October 21st, Stratford’s 3rd Annual Children’s Business Fair, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Paradise Green. Come out to the 3rd Annual Children’s Business Fair where Stratford young people between the ages of 6-16 have the opportunity to launch their very own startup business!

Saturday, October 21st, Operation Jireh Food Pantry, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on a first come first serve basis. Covenant Life Ministries, 959 Main Street.

Saturday, October 21st The Great Pumpkin Festival!! From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pumpkin carving, costume contests, games, rides, food, and fun. A don’t miss Stratford event for young and old.
