Saturday, January 27th, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  First ever Yarn Swap in the Stratford Library Lovell Room.  Knitters! Bring in your unused, unwanted yarn to swap with fellow knitters. Saturday, January 27th at 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 – 4 p.m. at the Stratford Library uCreate Space.  VIRTUAL REALITY DROP-IN DAY  MORNING & AFTERNOON DROP-IN SESSIONS.  Pop by the uCreate Space to try one of uCreate’s Meta Quest 2 VR headsets! Immerse yourself in the virtual world, or try popular VR games like Beat Saber. For ages 10 and up; anyone 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. *The headsets are available on a first come, first served basis. Made possible by Stratford Rotary.

Sunday January 28th at 2 p.m. in Stratford Library’s Lovell Room.  Join Mike Suntag, a former educator and co-owner of Breakthrough Education Strategies, to hear how you can make a difference for our students. Free and open to the public. Help Our Schools!

Wednesday, January 31, at Noon in the Lovell Room, Stratford Library Books Over Coffee: YELLOWFACE, F.R. Kuang’s current bestseller, which grapples with questions of diversity, racism and cultural appropriation, will be the topic of discussion, led by Linda LiDestri. Coffee/tea is served.

Wednesday, January 31st, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Stratford Community Conversations at the First Congregational Church, 2301 Main Street. Use the red doors on the Church Street side of the church to enter.  Priority One will be to get to the topics you bring to discuss, as usual. If there is time for other topics, we may touch on ideas for improving Stratford Public Schools or retail shopping in Stratford. Join us next week.

Friday February  2nd at 6:15 p.m. at Sterling House Community Center. Family Bingo Night @ SHCC. Come one, come all to SHCC Family Bingo Night.  Bring your family and friends to come play our version of family bingo.  Complimentary pizza, snacks and refreshments available.  $5 per family.

Saturday, February 10th, Perry House, 1128 West Broad Street, Valentine Tea. Seating is limited, so make sure you register to attend. Saturday, February 10th at 6 p.m. “Boogie At The Brewery”, A Funky Fundraising Party on SUPERBOWL WEEKEND sponsored by Sterling House Community Center. Dress in your best football themed outfit! Enjoy local food, beers, wine, and cocktails from Two Roads Brewing and Arena Rock from The Band Central! Featuring covers of Journey, Led Zeppelin, Doobie Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Grand Funk, The Clash, Peter Frampton, Guns and Roses, Rolling Stones, and more! All of this, and you will be making an impact on your community! Proceeds go to SHCC’s equitable programming.

Your invited to ‘show up, get down and do good’ (Band Central’s Mantra!) and support equitable access to great programs at SHCC in 2024 and beyond.
